Job Alert – Brussels Worries and Brussels Binder

This week is marked by events of a very contradictory nature: the anniversary of the Brussels attacks one year ago, where 32 people died at the Brussels airport and the metro station Maelbeek – overshadowed by another atrocious terror attack in London, leaving four people and the attacker dead. On the other hand, festivities are starting to celebrate the 60 year anniversary of the European Union – and we are awaiting the triggering of Art. 50 by British Prime Minister Theresa May, paving the way for Britain to leave the European Union. Brussels seems in an awkward state: business as usual ensures that the show goes on, whilst reflections on the past are supposed to help define a new future – but a secret formula has not yet been found. On a more positive side, this week has also seen a truly needed and innovative crowd funding initiative: The “Brussels Binder” was launched last Monday, seeking to ensure a balanced representation of women on EU panels. If you want to contribute to balanced gender representation or otherwise to a successful EU anniversary by taking up a position in the Brussels bubble, find the latest jobs and as usual more at politjobs.eu!
