Job Alert – Back to School: Corporate Tax and the Voter

Brussels is filling up again, and your politjobs team is back in town as well. The summer break ends with a bang: DG COMP’s decision to re-claim 13 billion Euro of taxes from Apple signals the Commission’s determination with regard to corporate tax and a tough position in competition matters overall. Will it do the trick and build voters’ trust in EU institutions? We will soon find out. A first indication: Austria’s presidential elections will be repeated on 2nd October, French and German elections are coming up next year. In any case, for the non-British amongst our readers, job chances may be increasing: especially French and German public affairs professionals are likely to be increasingly sought after, as British influence is deteriorating.
